VI International Congress

Road Safety for the Safety of Life

The Organizing Committee of the VI International Congress Road Safety for the Safety of Life is honored to invite you to become a sponsor of the Congress.

Place and venue: St. Petersburg (Tavricheskiy Palace, Lenexpo Exhibition Facility).

Organizers: Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations, Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, joined by the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation.

The Organizing Committee is chaired by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The first Congress in St. Petersburg dates back to as early as 2007. Today, the Congress takes place once in two years and provides a forum for:

• discussing state road safety policies in the CIS, effective strategies of prevention to reduce road accidents;
• CIS-wide coordination on the basis of international legal instruments of the status of legislative improvements, building and deployment of national road safety policies, ensuring civil protection against road accidents and their consequences;
• consolidation of efforts by authorities, traffic stakeholders and civil society institutions in addressing the issues of transportation safety;
• providing solutions to ensure road safety of children, prevention of road injuries of children, educate and raise awareness of road users;
• improving engagement of state authorities with communities, youth entities in shaping road and transport policies and a road safety framework.
